Basic Mug Shapes

and their subtle variations

Click on a box to open a page which discusses each
specific shape in some detail with additional photos.
Fire-King mugs are distinguishable from other maker mugs by their unique design characteristics, but some are subtle and it sometimes takes a trained eye to spot the differences.  Look at these pictures carefully.  If you find a mug that is described as Fire-King but does not have any of these shapes, handles, bottoms, curves, etc., then it will almost certainly not be a Fire-King mug.
