Patio
and Party Mugs
The
patio mugs is one of a small group that are not Anchor Hocking’s standard
milk glass formula. These make decent travel mugs in that they are
taller and don’t spill as much as the shorter mugs. They also came
in several different patterns, including one that has the fired-on colors
on the inside. All of these are fairly uncommon, and some are very
retro-Americana to be sure. These are not marked on bottom.
The
Tom & Jerry and Egg Nog mugs were a theme used by Hazel Atlas and they
look quite similar. The handles give them away though. The
handles on the Fire-King party mugs look more like a standard D-Handle
with the dimple, while the Hazel Atlas handles look more of a circle, an
ear for example. This shape mug can be found unmarked as well.
These are dated to the 1960s and were initially sold with a punch bowl
and a set of 8 mugs. These are easy to find, sometimes in their original
box.

This is the mug from the
Kiddie Time play set which included a bowl and plate, all very hard to
find items. |
Very rare set of patio mugs with fired-on colors both inside and out.
I am told these are the 3 mugs pictured in Gene Florence’s 2nd edition
book. Beautiful mugs. |
